About 3:30 a.m. I heard snap, crackle and leaves rustling. Thinking its a bear, I got a little nervous and curious. Then sounds of scratching on the neighbor's garbage can. I couldn't stand it anymore so I got up and peered out the window with my phone flashlight smashed up against the glass. I saw nothing. R. sleepily suggested raccoons but I saw nothing.
6 a.m. and I hear R. telling me to "come see and bring your camera." this is what he found. Yes, raccoons. 4 young siblings looking at us as if to say, "you gonna help us?" so I snapped a few pictures and R. tipped over the can to let them loose. Three came running out and the fourth needed a little extra tipping of the can, obviously the least confident of the four. Off they ran through the wooded area toward the tree they live in. I was wondering where mom was.
They were soooo adorable.
Life at camp is never boring.
